Frequently Asked Questions
How much does your rate increase per child?
My rate typically increases by $1 - $3 per child, depending on the age, specific needs, and any additional care requirements of each child.
Do you provide sick care?
Yes! Sick care is one of the many perks of choosing to hire a nanny over daycare. My only requirement for sick care is that you let me know as soon as possible when symptoms are present so I can take additional precautions to protect myself and my household.
I have a demanding, inconsistent work schedule. How would that work?
Careers with rotating or changing schedules can be hard to arrange childcare for - that is another perk of hiring a nanny! If you have an inconsistent schedule, my hours will be listed with a general outline, instead of specific information.
For example, it may state:

‘Nanny is required to work a schedule that will change according to Family’s needs. Childcare will generally be needed Monday through Friday between the hours of 6am and 9pm, with a guaranteed total of 40 hours per week. Family will provide Nanny with a detailed schedule at least two weeks in advance.’

What does ‘general cleaning and organization’ entail?
General cleaning and organization include:

-
Child’s bedroom: changing sheets, making bed, vacuuming, empty trash
-
Play areas: tidying toys, wiping / sanitizing surfaces, vacuuming
-
Changing areas: restocking diapers, wipes, creams, ect., washing / sanitizing changing pads, emptying diaper pail
-
Eating areas: wiping / sanitizing tables, chairs, counters, etc., washing bottles, plates, etc. vacuuming crumbs
-
Organization: rotating toys and books, keeping child’s closets and dressers tidy, sorting clothing seasonally and outgrown sizes
I do have a ‘leave it as you found it’ policy unless otherwise stated and appropriately compensated. This means, generally, I will only clean messes made by myself and the child during my work hours.

What additional services do you offer?
One of the best perks of hiring a nanny is the ability to create and retain completely customizable childcare. Anything listed in my ‘General Nanny Contract’ can be negotiated into our personalized work agreement with appropriate compensation. Some of these things include additional household tasks like child related deep cleaning, pet care, or meal preparation, overnight childcare, traveling with the family, and on call time.
Why do you require guaranteed hours?
Guaranteed hours are very important for all parties involved. I guarantee my availability during scheduled hours so you have reliable, consistent childcare and you guarantee pay for those hours, providing me with a stable income.
GH only apply when I am available and ready to work and you choose not to use my services. For example, your child is sick and you choose to stay home to care for them or you come home early from work and don’t need me to stick around. However, if I let you know I am feeling sick and cannot continue to work or am wanting to take a Friday off, that time will be covered by my PTO or deducted from my pay on a per hour basis, since I am unwilling or unavailable to work.
I’d like additional help but don’t need a FA / HM, can you accommodate?
Absolutely - my goal is to make your life easier so you can spend more quality time with your child! My rate will likely increase by $1 an hour for each additional task, depending on how often and how demanding the task is
